Rt. Hon Edward Argar MP October 2025 Update to Sileby Parish Council
"In my October update to the Parish Council I wanted to touch on a couple of issues that I know remain important to the village.
Access at Sileby Railway Station
Firstly, I know that some have asked for an update on Network Rail's scoping work on the station accessibility project, part of the Access for All programme, to conduct technical assessments of how the village's station could be made properly accessible.
My understanding from previous correspondence with Network Rail is that their project team continues to work on its assessment, and that I should expect an update around November, which I look forward to receiving, and when I do I will pass this on to the Parish Council.
Tackling Flooding
The second matter, on which I provide regular updates, and ehich remains of significant interest to the village, is flooding. I attended the drop-in event in the Community Centre at which all the relevant organisations, such as Leicestershire County Council, Charnwood Borough Council, the Environment Agency, Severn Trent Water, the Parish Council etc were represented, and I took the opportunity not only to speak to all the agencies/ organisations, and with LCC's Cabinet Member for Flooding, but also to many local Sileby residents who'd dropped by to speak with the different organisations and discuss their work to help tackle flooding in the village.
As always, I will continue to work with all of them, as well as local Councillors, the Parish Council, and the Flood Action Group, as the winter and wetter weather approach.
As ever, if you feel that at any point I can be of assistance as Syston's local MP, please do feel free to either email me at Edward.argar.mp@parliament.uk or write to me at: The Rt. Hon Edward Argar MP, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA."
